Sharjah 24: Dr. Hashim Abdullah Al Zaabi, Chancellor of the Sharjah Maritime Academy (SMA), confirmed the academy’s keenness to strengthen academic and logistical cooperation with the Qatari ministries of transport, and energy and infrastructure, in a joint meeting between representatives of the three entities at the academy’s headquarters.
A high-level Qatari delegation visited the SMA in Khorfakkan to learn about its facilities and achievements, as well as to consider prospective collaboration.
The visiting delegation was led by Dr. Saleh bin Fetais Al Marri, Assistant Undersecretary of Maritime Transport Affairs at the Qatari Ministry of Transport, and accompanied by Engineer Hessa Al Malik, Minister's Advisor for Maritime Transport Affairs at the Qatari Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, as well as several officials from both ministries. The academy's chancellor, Dr. Hashim Al Zaabi, also attended.
During the visit, the group toured the campus, got to know the simulation equipment and workshops, and learned about the academy's methods and training programmes.
The discussions centred on collaboration, the sharing of skills in maritime education and training, scholarships, and the exploration of areas for logistical support cooperation.
Al Marri acknowledged his delight with the tour, praising the academy's prestigious reputation in maritime education and training, competent personnel, and cutting-edge technology capabilities.
