His Highness Sheikh Saud welcomed the guests participating in the festival as well as the attendees from the tribes and followers who flocked to the Al Labsa Square Racecourse to watch the annual event.
“This signifiant heritage festival serves as an important bridge between UAE tribes and their kin across the Arabian Gulf, fostering fair competition among camel owners. More than just a race, it fuels national pride and imbues future generations with the essence of our shared legacy. In this way, it preserves the authentic Arab identity, customs, and traditions we cherish, being a timeless inheritance bestowed upon us by our ancestors,” he added.
During the event, poets spun verses laced with patriotism and reverence for the UAE's leadership, extolling their dedication to preserve Emirati heritage.
Camel racing, as an integral thread in the tapestry of their identity, took centre stage in their rhymes.
