Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) delegation, taking part in the Zayed Charity Marathon in Egypt, visited Al Nas Hospital, the largest free-of-charge hospital for heart and digestive system diseases in Africa and the Middle East.
The purpose of the visit was to understand the hospital's services, address its needs for medicines, devices, and medical staff, and bring joy to sick children.
Obaid Al Balushi, Director of the Relief and Disaster Preparedness Department, led the delegation in touring hospital departments, visiting wards, and providing iPads to children. Al Balushi emphasised that the visit aligns with the principles and values of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, by reinforcing the UAE's humanitarian role and helping alleviate patient suffering. The UAE's participation in the marathon will benefit the Misr Al Kheir Foundation, Al Nas Hospital, and other government hospitals, as well as launch humanitarian initiatives in collaboration with the Misr Al Kheir Foundation.
