His Highness congratulated Kalba's citizens and residents on the city's development progression, which is of benefit to them. His Highness directed the parties in charge of the fishery to provide the necessary care and support to the fishermen and multiplying income sources for the Fishermen's Association.
According to His Highness, preserving traditional professions such as fishery and agriculture is essential, stressing the continuous support to local occupations.
His Highness explained that agriculture comes as one of the top priorities in the development plans by entrusting the competent authorities to provide everything necessary for farmers to produce organic crops and supporting livestock breeders by providing pasture.
"Al Hafiya Lake" and "Jabal Al Dim Rest Area" are eco-friendly projects that are under development. According to His Highness, these projects will help provide jobs for the region's people.
At the end of his speech at the opening ceremony, His Highness called on parents to continue teaching their children traditional professions and crafts and passing them on to future generations, in a step to preserve the ancestors' legacy, carry on the Arabic language along with the nation's customs and traditions that preserve society's identity. His Highness added that development projects that preserve heritage enhance the gains that His Highness yearns for.
His Highness toured the souq's markets, the meat and poultry, the seafood, and the fruits and vegetables. There is also an auction area for the seafood.
His Highness was briefed on the souq, which is located on a total area of 33,000 square meters, including the parking lots, 16 meat and poultry vendors, 22 seafood vendors, and 31 fruits and vegetables vendors. His Highness inspected the rest of the souq's facilities.
His Highness toured the pier and the docks, which fit 72 boats. His Highness reviewed the expansion of the Fishermen's Association headquarters, the fishermen's rest area, and the plan to expand the pier to serve the outdoor auction area and facilitate the docking process.
