Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah visit COP28

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, underscored the importance of technological and digital innovations in promoting sustainability and mitigating the repercussions of climate change, in addition to its role in giving a strong impetus to international efforts aimed at preserving natural resources and building a better future for the next generation.
This came during the visit made by Sheikh Saud today, accompanied by Sheikh Saqr bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, to the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP28), which is being held in Expo City Dubai until 12th December.

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah praised the broad international participation in the conference, which reaffirms the UAE's success in properly organising and hosting this global event, and reiterates its commitment to sustainable development and leading global efforts to boost international cooperation by highlighting innovative environmental initiatives and strengthening mechanisms for effective globals participation for the sake one common objective, which is addressing climate challenges.

His Highness Sheikh Saud's tour included a visit to the "Pleistocene Park" project in the “Technology Innovation Hub” in the Green Zone, which displays the most prominent visions and ideas through digital technology techniques that provide innovative solutions that support the objectives COP28 in mitigating the repercussions of climate change, and stimulate joint cooperation in order to preserve the planet and enhance global sustainable development goals.

During his visit, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah learned about the latest innovations in the environmental field and sustainable development in the renewable and clean energy sector, as well as the most important awareness-raising initiatives aimed at enhancing community awareness on climate change.
