Sharjah24 - WAM: Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), received in Dubai Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, who is heading her country's delegation to the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28), which began today in Expo City Dubai.
During the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima welcomed the Italian Prime Minister, wishing her a successful visit to the UAE. They discussed the UAE-Italy cooperation ties across various fields, especially coordination and cooperation between institutes concerned with social development and empowering women, as well as the importance of exchanging expertise between the two sides.
The meeting also touched on the importance of COP28 outcomes that would contribute to preserving the environment and addressing climate challenges in order to achieve a safe, stable, and prosperous future for humanity at large.
The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhas and the delegation accompanying the Italian Prime Minister.
