Sharjah bids farewell to the 26th Asian Championship

Sharjah 24: Sharjah men's handball team bid farewell to the 26th Asian Champions League Club Championship, after losing to the Qatari Al Arabi team 28-23, in the match that brought the two teams together, on Thursday, at Al Qadisiyah Club hall in Shaikh Saad Alabdullah Sports Hall Complex, as part of the last round of the second group, and the first half ended with Al Arabi team prevailing 17-13.
With such result, Sharjah reaches the third place with 9 points, equally with the leaders of Qatari Al Arabi team and the runner-up of the Kuwaiti group, Al Qadisiyah, as the standings were decided by goal difference.
Sharjah had defeated the Kuwaiti host, Al-Qadisiyah, with a score of 30-28, then defeated Al-Jaish SC (Iraq) team 35-16, the Indian Sai team 51-20, and Shabab Saida 34-21, before stumbling against Al Arabi by a margin of 5 goals 28-23.
It is noteworthy that Sharjah succeeded during its previous participations in reaching the golden square three times, after achieving fourth place in India 2018, and the bronze medal, twice in a row, in Kuwait and South Korea 2019.
