Fujairah Ruler receives Emirati astronauts Al Neyadi, Al Mansoori

Sharjah24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, received, in Al Rumailah Palace, Emirati astronauts Hazza Al Mansoori and Sultan Al Neyadi, along with Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, and the Zayed’s Ambition Mission-2 Patch team.
The meeting was also attended by. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

His Highness Sheikh Hamad welcomed the two astronauts and the centre’s delegation, congratulating them on conducting the longest space mission in Arab history and highlighting the mission of Al Neyadi on the International Space Station (ISS), which he described as a milestone in the UAE's track record.

His Highness congratulated the centre’s team and lauded their support for the mission, highlighting the importance of the UAE’s valuable achievements in space research, discovery, and research missions.

His Highness explained that the support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his keenness to create an inspiring environment that supports innovation has empowered Emirati youth to make remarkable achievements, which strengthen the country’s national identity and boost its global stature.

His Highness Sheikh Hamad received a commemorative gift from Al Neyadi, which was a flag of the UAE that he took on his historic mission on the ISS, in appreciation of His Highness Sheikh Hamad’s support.

His Highness The Ruler of Fujairah was also briefed about the details of Al Neyadi’s mission on the ISS, carried out in collaboration with several international space agencies.

His Highness was then briefed by Al Mansoori, the first Arab to be responsible for monitoring an ISS mission, about his relevant role, which included supporting Al Neyadi and their other colleagues as well as coordinating experiments and daily tasks on the ISS.
