Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has emphasised that the celebration of Flag Day is a cherished national occasion that embodies unity, patriotism, and profound respect for the UAE's flag.
In a speech on the occasion of Flag Day, His Highness stated that the national flag represents the sovereignty of the state and the unwavering commitment to defending it, adding that "this day is not only about preserving the cultural and human achievements of our nation but also signifies progress and prosperity across various aspects of our lives.

The Umm Al Qaiwain Ruler underscored the legacy of the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding rulers of the Emirates when the national flag was first raised.

He added that Flag Day will continue to be a treasured historical narrative, passed down through generations, instilling its national values and aspirations. It encapsulates the story of a united nation driven by a resolute will and unwavering determination to persevere, striving for excellence in all domains to elevate the UAE's standing among the world's nations.

"Our celebration of raising the national flag is a symbol of unity, national identity, and a deep sense of belonging for all the citizens of our nation. It serves as a reaffirmation of our love and loyalty to the flag's significance, as well as a testament to the sacrifices made to keep it flying high and strong, just as the spirit, strength, and unity of our people," His Highness Sheikh Saud concluded.
