Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) announced its readiness to hold the 12th Age Forum, on October 2, at Al Qasimia University Theatre in the University City of Sharjah.
The forum aims to shed light on the most prominent successful experiences and practices in the field of elderly care, at the regional and international levels, as well as to provide an opportunity to explore how to integrate technology into the elderly care, including the use of remote monitoring techniques and smart homes to improve their independence and comfort, and to adapt these successful models within Sharjah context to improve the quality of life for the elderly community.
Maha Mansour Al Ali, Director of the Government Communication Department and Head of the Organising Committee, said that the forum is one of the events that the department organises annually, within the framework of celebrating the International Day of Older Persons, which would contribute to the exchange of best experiences, practices and innovations in the field of care and services for the elderly; and the search for future solutions to meet the increasing challenges faced by societies in the field of elderly care.
Maha Mansour Al Ali confirmed that the Emirate of Sharjah is one of the first cities in serving the elderly through different services and initiatives, and always seeks to benefit from the experiences and practices of others and work to adapt them to suit Sharjah society.
