According to the country's military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), four "terrorists" were killed in an exchange of fire in Asman Manza area of South Waziristan, highlighting the Pakistani military's "determination to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve."
Caretaker Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Tuesday expressed grief and sorrow over the soldiers' death, describing them as the "pride of the country." Earlier last week, at least 13 laborers were killed and two others sustained injuries in a roadside explosion in North Waziristan tribal district, while up to 15 suicide bombings were reported in the province since last year.
