Khorfakkan Art Centre of the Sharjah Art Foundation is a meeting point for art lovers. Through several programmes and events, the centre works to discover talents, and develop participants’ skills, within activities introduced by a group of artists and specialists.
In this context, and within the Spring Programme, the centre organised 4 different training workshops for children in the age group of 8 years old and above. The workshops, supervised by a number of artists and specialists, attracted 54 participants.
The first workshop "Poster and Theme" familiarised children with the basics of poster design. Eid Al Adha was the theme to design different posters in this context.
The second workshop focused on knitting and making wool handicrafts, to form creative figures and wall paintings using coloured woolen threads, following the artist Patricia Kearsenhout style.
The third workshop "Baya on Bags", was on drawing on bags, transforming dull bags into artistic masterpieces following the artist Baya.
The fourth workshop was about making miniature ceramics and pottery dishes, in whereas f trees and plants components, such as seeds and leaves, were used.
