Sharjah24 - WAM: As part of Operation Gallant Knight 2 organised by the Ministry of Defence, the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), in cooperation with the Health Directorate in Latakia, Syria, launched the “Cardiac Care” initiative.
The initiative aims to offer catheterisation and heart surgeries for individuals from the most underprivileged Syrian families in cooperation with the Al Bassel Cardiology Hospital in Latakia and a specialist medical team.
Mohammed Khamees Al Kaabi, Head of the ERC Delegation in Syria, said the ERC team would visit several Syrian cities to provide relief aid as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2. He added that many heart diseases had been detected during this process, noting that the initiative aims to provide medical aid and perform surgeries for people in need.
Dr. Hawazen Adnan Makhlouf, Director of Latakia Health Directorate, highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the health authority and the ERC under Operation Gallant Knight 2.
He then extended his gratitude for the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives, which include the provision of medical and pharmaceutical aid, launching health initiatives, and performing urgent surgical operations.
Operation Gallant Knight 2 underscores the UAE’s support for the Syrian people, as per the directives of the country’s leadership. It has also dispatched 185 planes and three ships to Syria loaded with basic food, medicine and medical supplies.
