Sharjah24: After enduring seven years without winning the title, Shabab Al Ahli team finally broke through in the pre-final phase of the 2022–2023 Adnoc Pro League competition by defeating Baniyas 2-1.
Shabab Al Ahli club won the championship for the first time since the 2015–2016 season thanks to its 54 points and its dominance in head-to-head matchups against the Al-Wahda and Al-Ain clubs.
With goals from Sasa Ivkovic (in the 61st minute), Azizjun Janev (in the 70th minute), and Yahya Al-Ghassani (in the 73rd minute), the Shabab Al Ahli club rallied from a goal down to defeat Baniyas 2-1 and claim the club's eighth ADNOC Professional League championship.
And right after the final whistle blew, Shabab Al Ahli supporters began celebrating the club's eighth championship in its history and its fourth since the introduction of professionalism in the 2008-2009 season.
