Sharjah 24: The DIHAD International Scientific Advisory Board – DISAB, whose offices are located in Geneva, Switzerland, has awarded Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), ‘The 2023 DIHAD International Personality Award for Humanitarian Relief.’
This comes to honour her efforts and unwavering support of those in need and her influence and accomplishments in the humanitarian field all over the world.
Known as ‘Mother of the Nation,’ Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak plays a leading role in the UAE’s mission to improve the lives and conditions of all people, in addition to supporting women globally which made her a symbol of promoting female empowerment and gender equality. Due to her continued commitment of spreading kindness and compassion to people of all walks of life, DISAB also honoured Her Highness with the title of ‘Mother of Peace.’
Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, UAE Minister of State, and advisor to Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, received the award presented by Amb. Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation, Chairman of DISAB, and Roving Ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the GCC; and Amb. Gerhard Putman-Cramer, CEO of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian and CEO of DISAB, on behalf of Her Highness during the opening ceremony of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition – DIHAD 2023, which was officially commenced its annual three-day event at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Dr. Maitha Al Shamsi, stated: “Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is a shining example of the humanitarian figure we all aspire to be, and I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of her. Her Highness is one that has been blessed with a big heart and a soul that yearns for giving, and today marks an incredible recognition for her efforts in bettering humanity.”
This prestigious award is one of the most prominent of its kind, presented by DISAB – whose offices are in Geneva, Switzerland, in recognition of international figures and leaders who play a prominent role in supporting people in need around the world. Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is the first female to have been awarded this honour in the past 19 years.

DIHAD 2023 Conference and Exhibition continues for two more days where more than 8,200 people from 110 countries are expected to attend, including 828 participating NGOs, charities, aid and relief suppliers, and many more.
