Sharjah24 – AFP: Bridging the gap between past and present renovations: an exhibition in Paris offers a glimpse into the lives of Notre-Dame cathedral, which was partly destroyed by a fire in April 2019 and is due to reopen to the public in late 2024.
Commenting on this, Isabelle Marquette, co-curator of the exhibition stated, "This is an exceptional opportunity because the sculptures were installed in the middle of the 19th century at the bottom of the spire, so at the top of the cathedral. We could not benefit from such a close look, such a proximity to the sculptures since then. This is the first time, so it is a rather exceptional opportunity to admire them. Especially since they are very delicate, with remarkable technical, iconographic and stylistic work, which means that we can appreciate them today."
