Sultan bin Ahmed inaugurates 7th edition Xposure 2023

Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council opened the seventh edition of the International Photography Festival "Xposure," held at the Expo Sharjah Centre from February 9 to 15. The festival's opening sessions were attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.
Over the course of seven days, more than 100 international photographers will display 1,794 photographs in 68 solo and group shows, allowing people from all walks of life who like photography to learn about the artists' experiences.
During the festival's opening ceremony, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, talked on the importance of pictures in changing existing prejudices about countries, people, and events.
"With the shifting circumstances that the globe is experiencing, we come to Exposure to remember that beauty still exists despite the turbulence," remarked the Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau.
The photographers described their experiences, their participation in Xposure 2023, and the show's role in consolidating the message of photography and enhancing its cultural impact on future generations.
Following the opening ceremony, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah visited the festival's pavilions, looking at the exhibited works and meeting the festival's photographers, who gave him a full explanation of the many works on display. He also learnt about the pictures' technical aspects and techniques.
He also visited the participating and supporting organizations' pavilions, which displayed a variety of participations that embody the art of photography and its message, as well as encouraged young photographers in a variety of events and initiatives.
The festival schedule includes 41 seminars and panel discussions with the best photographers in the world, educational and fun activities sponsored by "Platform X" to get more people involved in the festival, and 41 seminars and panel discussions with the best photographers in the world.
The "Environmental Summit," which focuses on climate change and the role of photography in documenting climatic transformations on our planet, is one of the festival's main activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Digital Office, Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and a group of international photographers, photography enthusiasts, and media professionals.
