The first event entitled ‘How to build a successful business in the UAE’ attracted over 30 passionate attendees, including small entrepreneurs. The vibrant Park has planned a series of five inaugural events to encourage people in the ecosystem or out of the park to book a day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) under a specific theme.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTIP, said: “Meetup is an amazing tool that will help SRTIP to boost targeted networking and engage like-minded people in a fun environment. This activity will be free of charge for people to book their days and it presents a WIN-WIN deal as they can promote their businesses or have networking events without paying any fees. We believe this initiative will be another powerful tool to spark interest in SRTIP’s ecosystem.”
The other themes in the five-part series are: How to start a successful business in the UAE (23 January); Exploring academia and industrial relations (25 January); Become an entrepreneur in the UAE (27 January) and Coaching and Mentorship of Young Talents (30 January).
Through these casual Meetup events, SRTIP aims to position the park as a business and entrepreneurship hub, attract new tenants, highlight new services and boost sales at in-house outlets.
Themes for upcoming meets will include Partner Relations and introduction to how students can host events like Open Mikes and Talent Shows at Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLAB).
Meetup is a platform for finding and building local communities. It can be used to meet new people, learn new things, find support, get out of comfort zones, and pursue passions together. The app lets Meetup organizers add a Zoom meeting to their group events easily on meetup.com or in the Meetup app.
The goal of Meetup is to connect people with shared tastes to engage in common activities. After creating a user account in Meetup, people can choose between dozens of different interests that will determine the type of Meetups (hanging out spaces).
