Magnitude 6.2 earthquake shakes homes in Indonesia

Sharjah24 - Reuters: A magnitude 6.2 earthquake shook homes in Indonesia on Monday.
Footage shows the quake shaking a chandelier and photos hanging on a wall in Aceh province, northern Sumatra on January 16.

The United States Geological Survey reported that it was centred around 48 kilometres southeast of Singkil city at a depth of 37 kilometres. It struck at 22:29 UTC.

There were no immediate reports of deaths or serious damage.

No tsunami alerts have been raised.
