Al Ruwaished, Al-Mulla bring best of Khaleeji music to Khorfakkan

Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre Saturday evening hosted veteran Kuwaiti singers and songwriter Abdullah Al Ruwaished and Khalid Al-Mulla, in a once in a lifetime concert, showcasing the best of Khaleeji music and poetry with their characteristic rhythms and haunting melodies.
The two popular Khaleeji singers joined voices, as it were, to entertain and electrify the music lovers recreating the magic of the rich and authentic Khaleeji music and their own popular songs that have made them household names across the region.  

The evening began with the artist Khalid Al-Mulla, known for his powerful, rich voice, treating the audience to some of his most loved music and his mastery of oud, reviving the years of beautiful memories in everyone’s minds. The lively audience responded to the artist with great enthusiasm often spontaneously joining him in the celebration of amazing rhythms of the Khaleeji music and poetry.

Al-Mulla, known as ‘The Imp of the Oud’ and for “Ya Nassim Al-Sabah,” enjoyed the interaction with his fans and performed many of his popular numbers known for their distinct Adeni colour and authentic oriental melodies.

When it was the turn of Abdullah Al Ruwaished, he took the audience on a breathless journey to the heights of traditional Khaleeji music as he performed song after incredible song to quench the thirst of those present from the sweet spring of the Gulf song. He presented a bouquet of his most loved songs that the audiences in the region have grown up with and remember by heart. 

Al-Ruwaished caressed the strings of grief, accompanied by classic hits over the decades. He rekindled a thousand memories of the Arab listener reminding them once again how he has created a place for the Khaleeji song in the Arab hearts and ears.

The “ambassador of the Khaleeji music,” as Al Ruwaished is known, transported his fans to a beautiful world of sweet melody and imagination, as he treated them to songs such as: "Don't Blame Him", "Lumni Bshouq" and "Mafee Ahad Martaah".

In one of the rare, magical moments of the session, Khalid Al-Mulla joined Abdullah Al-Ruwaished on stage. The duo performed a number of duets together, driving the audience delirious with songs like "Dunya Al-Walah", "Awaisheq" and "I Follow My Heart".

As part of its efforts to showcase the best of Arabic music, poetry and culture as part of the #LetsKhorfakkan musical season, the Khorfakkan Amphitheatre of Sharjah Government Media Bureau has been hosting the best and brightest Arab and international singers and artists.
