Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC), presided over the council's meeting held remotely via video conferencing.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah directed the Council to work on standardising policies and systems of national and international tests that students undergo in schools, to benefit them in a way that is in line with the efforts exerted to develop the education system and achieves national aspirations.
He said that exams should be an effective tool to identify the true level of students' basic knowledge, capabilities and skills, and to provide authorities with accurate information about their performance in order to set development policies and required changes in systems and curricula.
He also highlighted the need for these exams to be consistent with students' educational experience, their inclinations and abilities in order for them to achieve their best potential to contribute to building the nation's future.
In this regard, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reaffirmed the importance of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, as it was established to evaluate the educational system and measure educational outcomes, including students' performance in tests, with the aim of improving the quality of education in the country.
