Sharjah24 – AFP: Built on a former mine site, the Louvre-Lens museum, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, is proud to have exceeded 5 million visitors, a sign that its graft is taking hold in a long-stricken area that is showing signs of renewal.
Commenting on this,Laurence des Cars, Director of the Louvre-Lens museum stated, "The Louvre-Lens is not the tree that hides the forest, it's a little bit, I would say, the opposite. It is an indicator of the capacity that this territory has had to mobilise itself for its own history and in a very original way, which obviously cannot but engage the support, and even the commitment of the cultural professional that I am. I think I can say that it is the same for all my team. "
