Sharjah24 - WAM: Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasised that the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is progressing steadily in its pioneering journey with the spirit of one team and integration in the federal and local government work.
Al Gergawi made the remarks during the opening of the current edition the Annual Meetings of the UAE Government, being held from 22nd and 23rd November in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of UAE leaders and more than 500 federal and local government personalities.
He pointed out the importance of the annual meetings as a national platform to discuss key government issues, and making better future that is in consistent with objectives of the coming decade and Centennial.
The UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs touched on the main goals of the annual meetings, represented in realising the visions and aspirations of the UAE leadership in strengthening the spirit of one team in national action at the federal and local levels, and ensuring the integration of plans and unifying efforts to improve the quality of life in the UAE.
He also emphasised the UAE's keenness on keeping pace with all positive trends to enhance its competitiveness in all economic and scientific fields, in accordance with commitment to national and social values, principles and legacies, that develop the UAE's societal fabric, stressing keenness to launch initiatives aimed at consolidating Arab identity in the region and the world.
He added : "The economic growth of the UAE exceeded 22 percent during 2022, and foreign trade during the first six months of this year exceeded AED one trillion, compared to AED 840 billion before the pandemic. The revenues of our tourism sector also increased to AED19 billion in the first half of 2022.”
This new institutional culture in the government work is based on proactivity, flexibility, integration and realism at the federal and local levels, which fosters UAE superiority and the ability to adapt to global challenges, while keeping pace with changes and achieve successive successes, he concluded.
