The ceremony began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, after which the attendees watched a video presentation of the event, its objectives and programmes, in addition to the numbers and statistics recorded by the University of Sharjah and its achievements in the medical field.
After that, His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah and Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Congress delivered a speech, welcoming Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and the attendees, and stressing that the event will shed light on the most important issues in medicine and health care and the latest practices, techniques and modern methods in medicine and dentistry.
His Excellency considered this event an excellent opportunity for the health care sector to raise awareness in addition to establishing relationships between specialists and researchers at the University of Sharjah, the German University of Lubeck and the Reinbeck Hospital in Hamburg.
The University of Sharjah’s Kalba Branch will also host the activities of the second day of the event, during which a number of workshops and interactive sessions will be held to provide an opportunity for graduate students to discuss their research projects.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi honoured the participants of the event, namely, the Germany University of Lubeck, the Reinbek Hospital in Hamburg, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, and the Sharjah Health Authority.
