Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, highlighted the importance of studying philosophy for raising social awareness and shaping cultural identity, noting the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, to launch projects that spread knowledge.
Sheikh Mohammed made this statement while attending the opening of the 2nd Fujairah International Philosophy Conference, organised by the Philosophy House at the Al Bahar Hotel and Resort.
The opening was also attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director-General of the e-Government Department of Fujairah, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
The conference, which is taking place from 17th to 20th November, aims to discuss a range of philosophy-related topics, involving panel discussions and lectures on a variety of issues.
The conference’s organising committee announced that it will soon launch the Fujairah Philosophy Dictionary, the largest such dictionary in the Arab region.
The launch of the conference was attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Court of Fujairah, and Salem Al Zahmi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah, as well as several Arab and foreign specialists involved in philosophy, and persons interested in the matter from the UAE and abroad.
