Sharjah24 - WAM: The Emirates News Agency (WAM) signed a cooperation agreement with Latvia’s national information agency, LETA, to improve their collaboration in exchanging news and media content.
The cooperation agreement was signed at the Global Media Congress, which will run until 17th November, 2022, by Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of WAM and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Global Media Congress, and Juris Mendziņš, CEO of LETA.

The agreement’s signing took place under the framework of WAM’s keenness to strengthen its partnerships with international media outlets and promote its sustainable model of professional cooperation.

According to the agreement, the two sides will exchange news, photos and videos on a daily basis, which will be distributed on their platforms.

Al Rayssi stressed that the UAE and Latvia share strong relations and close cooperation, especially in the media sector.

WAM is keen to promote its network of relations with international media institutions and capitalise on available opportunities to establish sustainable partnerships with media agencies worldwide, he said.

Mendziņš said that LETA’s cooperation with WAM will open new prospects for cooperation to convey credible media messages that spotlight the cultural, development and humanitarian achievements in the two countries, lauding WAM’s pioneering media model and open news service.

He also highlighted the importance of the Global Media Congress in shaping the future of the media industry in the region and around the world.
