Sharjah24: Twirling delicately to soft music, a ballerina stands on top of a piano which glides effortlessly through the many lobbies and hallways of Sharjah International Book Fair. This one-of-a-kind spectacle where the dancer performs on top of a traversing piano is being hosted by Italy, who are the Guest of Honour at the 12-day fair.

Visually mesmerizing, this creative performance is an instant hit with attendees. As the piano and dancer traverses the halls, visitors of all ages scramble eagerly for their phones to capture the magical act and to take ‘selfies’ with the performers to create lasting memories of this incredible experience.

As the Guest of Honour, Italy is organizing 17 entertaining activities as part of its cultural programme at the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair. Additionally, Italian authors, intellectuals, artists and publishers are all set to give visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the cultural dynamics of this fascinating European country. Notable Italian authors participating at SIBF 2022 include Viola Ardone, Luigi Ballerini, Alessandro Baricco as well as Francesca Corrao.
