Sharjah24 - AFP: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced on Sunday that the death toll from the twin car bombings in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, had increased to 100, eliciting criticism from the nation's international partners.
After visiting the blast site, he stated that "so far, the number of those who died has reached 100 and 300 are wounded, and the number for both the death and wounded continues to climb."
The afternoon explosions broke windows and tore through the walls of surrounding buildings, scattering shrapnel and spewing smoke and dust into the air.
The brutal siege was promptly condemned by Somalia's allies, with expressions of solidarity coming from Turkey, the United States, the African Union, and the UN.
According to police spokesman Sadik Dudishe, victims of the attack included women, children, and the elderly.
