Saif bin Zayed attends Man in Middle demo during ISNR AD 2022

Sharjah24 - WAM: Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, attended the Man in the Middle demo as part of the International Exhibition of National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2022), hosted in Abu Dhabi.
The event represents a global platform for establishments and companies working in the field of national security, cybersecurity, and social protection and prevention.

The demo was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Mazen Al Faraya, Jordanian Minister of Interior; Daniel Aselo , Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Security of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Lieutenant General Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al Badi; Counselor Saif Al Shafar; Lieutenant General Abdullah Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Major General Pilot Faris Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of ISNR; and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), in addition to police chiefs in the UAE, a number of senior government officials, executives, and representatives of local and international institutions and companies participating in the exhibition, along with a number of senior officers from the UAE's ministries of defence and interior.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed and VIP attendees toured ISNR Abu Dhabi 2022 exhibition, witnessing the offerings showcased at the various pavilions and platforms, including technologies, projects, and initiatives offering solutions for current and future challenges based on advanced science and AI technologies.

Sheikh Saif visited the pavilions of Tawazun, Al Wasl Trading Group, G42, Edge, Interpol, Cobwebs, Sicuro for security systems, and Worldwide K9 UAE Academy, as he was briefed about their respective initiatives and projects that enhance security and prevention using new and advanced technologies.

He began his tour with the live demo of Man in the Middle, which showcases the efforts of the government agencies in security and protection by simulating a high-level cyberattack and entailed threats, along with the aftermath and challenges caused by such an attack.

The simulation showcases the teams' capabilities to deal with all threats and challenges and to restore stability, manage the security and the flow of traffic, ambulances, and rescue teams, as well as crisis management, while dealing with all emergencies. There was also a joint musical performance by all police bands in the UAE.

The demo involved a security scenario of a foreign cyberattack that targets the infrastructure of vital facilities, disrupts traffic and electricity systems, and causes fires and chemical leakage, to show how the authorities manage all threats accompanying an attack, including the national ambulance teams, civil defense, hazardous materials (CBRN) handling team, and civil and traffic police, as well as the advanced technical devices, vehicles, and tools that are used by the authorities as part of the efforts of the UAE to be the safest place on Earth.

The second day witnessed eight high-level workshops attended by many leaders, decision-makers, and official delegations visiting the exhibition.

The workshops began with the Abu Dhabi Police Innovation Lab, followed by a workshop titled "Women and Youth Empowerment... An Economic Power" with the participation of Samah Al Hajri, Director of Cooperatives and Strategic Inventory Department of the Ministry of Economy; Khasiba Al Ameri, Vice President and Acting President of MDC Business Management Services, a Mubadala company; Hind bin Demaithan Al Qamzi, Founder and Creative Director of Hamzat Wasl; and Khalifa Al Tamimi, an aerospace engineer at Halcon Company, one of the Edge Group companies.

The second day included a workshop on inspiring experiences presented by Sahar Rasti, Founder and CEO of SGR Group, followed by a workshop titled “Radiation Security: Current Scenarios, Risks, and Countermeasures” presented by Prof. Francesco de Erico, Emeritus Professor of Nuclear Engineering and Medical Physics, and Director of the Radiometrics Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Pisa.

This was followed by a workshop titled “Biosecurity, Public Health Risks, and Lessons Learned from the Epidemic” presented by Prof. Vasilis Vassilio, Professor of Epidemiology, Head of the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, Professor of Environment, Ophthalmology, and Optical Sciences at Yale University.

Another workshop titled “Psychological Stress on Emergency Response Team Members during Major Accidents” was presented by Prof. Amer Abbas Hussein, former Chief Adviser to Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.

The second day’s workshops concluded with one titled “Managing International Operations - Cooperation in Crimefighting” by Major Hamad Yousef Khater Al Hammadi, Director of the International Operations Department at the Ministry of Interior.
