Sharjah24 : The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has showcased the emirate’s regional and international efforts to advance books and knowledge under Sharjah’s cultural project during its participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2022, which concluded in the Saudi Arabian capital on October 8.
At its pavilion, SBA highlighted its initiatives, awards, and incentives and its advanced infrastructure, and printing services that are enhancing new opportunities in the regional books sector. SBA also attended the Publishers Conference held on September 27-28.

The SBA pavilion also welcomed and received officials, authors, publishers, and representatives of Arab and international media, and briefed them on the authority’s journey in organising two prominent annual cultural events - the Sharjah International Book Fair, which was recognised as the world’s largest book fair in 2021, and the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival.

The Authority also highlighted the awards it has introduced to target the children’s literature sector and shone light on the services and incentives offered to investors at the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone and the opportunities and services offered by the Sharjah International Literary Agency.

Commenting on its successful participation, Fadel Hussain Busim, Director of SBA in the Eastern Region, said: “The Authority’s participation in regional and international book fairs demonstrates Sharjah’s commitment to cultural and knowledge development and spotlights the range of opportunities made available to boost the growth of the Arab and international publishing sectors."
