Sharjah24: On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), which was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of AUS, Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of the College of Engineering, said, "We are happy today to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the College of Engineering at AUS."

“We launched the first five programmes 25 years ago. Today, we are pleased to offer seven bachelor's degrees, nine master's degrees, and one Doctoral degree. Twenty-five years ago, we began with just five teaching staff. We currently have 88 professors and 25 lab instructors from the finest institutions on the globe. Twenty-five years ago, we had 80 students. Now we have 20,500. In the engineering faculty, we have come a long way in the past quarter century, from a single structure to three buildings covering a total of around 40,000 square metres and housing more than 60 laboratories outfitted with cutting-edge technology and sophisticated equipment,” Dr. Fadi elaborated.

Dr. Fadi Aloul, added, "To mark this milestone, we have initiated the College of Engineering Alumni Hall of Fame Alumni Event, to which we have invited some of our most accomplished alumni to speak and offer their knowledge and insight."

Dean of the College of Engineering, said, “Her Excellency Sarah Amiri, Minister of Public Education and Advanced Technology, is here with us today, and we couldn't be happier or more grateful. Her remarks to the students and audience about how to accomplish in college and then find rewarding careers in the United Arab Emirates and around the world were enthusiastically received.”
