Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) chaired the meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council, on Tuesday morning, which was held in the Ruler’s Office.
During its meeting, the SEC discussed a number of governmental issues on its agenda, and reviewed the progress of work in many sectors and development projects in various cities and regions of the Emirate.
As part of SEC’s support for youth and the provision of incentives to engage in entrepreneurship, the council approved exempting a number of pioneering projects supported by the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs “Ruwad” from government services fees. The new batch includes 55 projects in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Council reviewed the performance report of Sharjah Social Services Department for the first half of 2022, the report included a number of indicators that included social welfare, social care and protection, and community service performance.
The social welfare performance index dealt with requests for social assistance, which increased compared to the first half of 2021, in addition to the number of beneficiaries of social benefits, which increased by 22%. The index also dealt with economic empowerment services and other services.
The index of performance of care and social protection dealt with the services provided, such as requests for home care, physiotherapy services, examinations, members of Al Asala clubs, health services, minors services, and protection.
As for the community service performance indicator, it dealt with the participants in voluntary opportunities, which numbered 4,762 volunteers, the number of educational and social programmes, in addition to licenses to practice social professions.
