Death toll in mass attempt to enter Spain's Melilla hits 18

Sharjah 24 – AFP: The death toll following a mass attempt by a huge crowd of African migrants to cross from Morocco into Spain's Melilla enclave climbed to 18 on Friday, according to a new Moroccan toll.
"Thirteen illegal migrants injured during the assault on the town of Melilla died in the evening from their serious injuries," the authorities in Nador province said in a statement. The authorities had earlier said five migrants were killed and 76 injured, 13 of them seriously, while 140 police officers were injured, five of them seriously.
