In a statement, the Council paid tribute to the late President's commitment to the "values of coexistence, peace, and love."
"Sheikh Khalifa followed in the footsteps of his father, the late founder of the United Arab Emirates His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose humanitarian services in the Arab and Muslim worlds - and beyond - were invaluable and left a legacy that continues today.
"The Muslim Council of Elders extends its sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the late Sheikh Khalifa's family and the leaders and people of the United Arab Emirates and the Arab and Muslim worlds.
