Sharjah24 – Reuters: Pope Francis on Wednesday (April 6) condemned "the massacre of Bucha" and said United Nations was impotent in the war in Ukraine.
Speaking in the earlier part of his audience about the post-World War Two period, Francis said: "In the war in Ukraine, we are witnessing the impotency of the United Nations".
During his trip to Malta on April 2-3, Francis said he was considering a trip to Kyiv and implicitly criticised Russian President Vladimir Putin over the invasion of Ukraine, saying a "potentate" was fomenting conflict for nationalist interests.
''Unfortunately the dominant logic is that of the strategies of the most powerful states, to affirm their own interests by extending their areas of economic or ideological or military influence. We are seeing this with war''.
