Sharjah24 – AFP: Disadvantaged children in Peru, who have been deprived of schooling since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, benefit from learning to surf as a "therapy" that helps them not only to learn a new sport, but to improve their sociability and environmental awareness.
Commenting on this, Kayosha Castro Rodriguez, Founder of Puemape Planet organisation said,"They are local kids from here, with few opportunities and I taught them surfing because they have the ocean in front of their house, but they don't know what they have, the incredible waves and beyond teaching them to be surfers, (I try, ed.) to teach them to be a human being who respects the planet, the space and (to have) a sense of belonging."
