Sharjah24 – Reuters: Streets in the centre of the English town of Matlock were flooded on Monday (February 21) as Storm Franklin hit parts of the United Kingdom with strong winds and heavy rain.
Local authorities said several streets in the Derbyshire town were closed due to "devastating flooding" and urged people to avoid the area.
Over 140 flood warnings across England and Wales were in effect as of Monday 2 p.m. local (1400GMT), but Britain's weather office said the storm was expected to move away from the country later in the afternoon.
Storm Franklin is the third named storm to hit Britain in a week, after Storm Eunice killed three people and caused widespread disruption on Friday (February 18).
