Sharjah24 - AFP:A Sudanese man was shot dead Sunday during a crackdown on anti-coup rallies, medics said, as a United Nations human rights expert arrived in the country.
The 51-year-old man was hit with "a live bullet to the chest", according to the Sudanese Doctors' Committee, bringing the death toll during the crackdown on protests against an October military takeover to 82.
"The martyr was a patient at a hospital in Khartoum North... and went out to get some air after struggling with shortness of breath due to the heavy firing of tear gas which filled the hospital ward," the committee said, adding that he was then shot dead.
