Sharjah24 – AFP: Despite difficult weather conditions, authorities have resumed attempts to remove the bodies of four people who died after their plane crashed in Lake Thingvallavatn East of Reykjavik. A US YouTuber and a Belgian influencer were amongst the victims of the accident that took place last week.
Commenting on this, Runar Steingrimsson, Detective chief inspector pointed out, "It was -19°C last night and almost no wind, there is a thin ice over the lake. It makes some difficulties for the divers and the rescue people."
The Detective chief inspector added, "First is to get the people and we expected to use a whole day for that. And the other day for the plane. That’s mainly the plan and they will dive in groups two and two, and operate in groups."
Concluding his statement, Runar Steingrimsson, continued, "It is cold and the depth (for diving) is between 35 and 50 metres. In this cold, the temperature of the water is 0.1°C, so it’s very cold. And it can make some dangerous difficulties for the divers."
