Sharjah24 – AFP: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says a recent flurry of diplomatic efforts showed signs of "progress" in helping to stop Russia from invading Ukraine, as he voiced confidence that war on the continent could be averted at a press conference with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen.
Commenting on this, Olaf Scholz, German chancellor said, "Of course, there remain serious points of difference in how we see things during these discussions. But there are discussions. The OSCE has likewise become again a platform for exchange on security in Europe, which we have always stressed, and this is progress."
Olaf Scholz, German chancellor added, "We also agree to act together on the sanctions to be taken. They are very well prepared. At any moment, if the situation arises, we are able to take a joint decision, Germany, the United States, Europe and NATO, and I think that will be very effective."
