Sharjah 24 – WAM: Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, visited the Mozambique Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and was briefed about the country’s ambitious plans in the field of sustainability, investment in agriculture, fishing, mining and tourism.
During the tour, Miguel McKayma, Commissioner General of the pavilion, explained most prominent projects promoted by his country at Expo. He spoke at length about the Mozal Aluminium smelting facility project, the Cahora Bassa, arch dam and hydroelectric facility, which has found great interest from foreign investors, as well as the country's advanced railway system and its tourism industry.
McKayma gave the details of the National Electricity Strategy of Mozambique and how it is contributing to saving energy in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He also shed light on the natural attractions of the country, especially the water bodies that are home to a diverse range of marine creatures.
