Rotary International is a global network that brings together 1.4 million business leaders, experts, and problem solvers to discuss major global challenges and take action to address them.

The Minister was briefed on Rotary’s background, nature of work, and cultural and social values.

She also learned about its local and international programmes that focus on promoting peace, fighting diseases, supporting education, and protecting the environment.

Meanwhile, Almheiri highlighted the UAE’s commitment to accelerating climate action following the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), held in November 2021 in Glasgow.

She outlined the UAE’s relevant initiatives as well as its vision and objectives for hosting COP28 in 2023.

The Rotary International Pavilion is one of the most prominent pavilions of local and international organisations at Expo 2020 Dubai. Through its presence at the event, the network aims to enhance its image in the UAE and encourage its members from around the world to visit the country.
