"With the return of international tourists, overnight stays should increase by 10 to 15%", the Switzerland Tourism agency said stated on Tuesday
The agency said, " overnight stays were 90% of 2019 levels, thus "a sense of optimism is evident."
There is as a revival of European tourists, mainly from Germany, France and England, and local customers remained loyal.
In early December, the Swiss government put 10-day quarantine limitations on arrivals from countries with Omicron concerns. That includes the top three ski tourism destinations, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
In just 48 hours, several hotels and ski schools experienced a 50% drop in British bookings, so Bern changed its mind after it saw Omicron was already spreading across Switzerland.
