Russian permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said on twitter that Iran's announcement that it would not exceed 60 percent of uranium enrichment was a positive step prior to the eighth round of talks.
A source closer to the Iranian team partaking in the talks affirmed that Tehran was ready to move forward if all parties were on the same page and in agreement.
Iran is still seeking a revival of the 2015 nuclear agreement and also wants the US to return to the deal as a measure to lessen the impact of sanctions.
The first leg of negotiations on Iran's nuclear file began back in April.
Previously, United States Special Representative for Iran Robert Malley said after the seventh round of talks that time was running out to reach an agreement with Tehran on the nuclear file.
He added that the US was not far away from insisting on a new deal especially with Tehran being able to develop nuclear arsenal capabilities in the near future.
France, the UK, Germany, Russia, China, and indirectly the US are negotiating with Iran on its nuclear file in Vienna.
