Sharjah24 – AFP: Following his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Rome, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi expresses the joint willingness of the two countries to work together to tackle the challenges facing Europe, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic recovery and climate change.
Draghi also adds that Italy will assess, in the following days, whether to take restrictive measures in the run-up to the Christmas holidays on the basis of the data on the speed of trasmission of the Omicron variant.
Commenting on this, Mario Draghi , Italian Prime Minister said "As we have discussed, we want to work together to address the major challenges that are facing Europe: managing the pandemic, the economic recovery and managing climate change."
The Italian Prime Minister added, "We will have a steering committee this week where we will review possible measures to be taken in the run-up to the Christmas holidays. Nothing has been decided yet. We'll wait until Wednesday or Thursday and the decision will be made based on the latest sequencing data to see how fast the Omicron variant is spreading."
