Londoners queue for Covid-19 vaccine boosters

December 15, 2021 / 8:41 AM
Sharjah24 – AFP: Many Londoners queue for hours outside pharmacies, health facilities and dedicated centres to receive a Covid-19 vaccine booster as the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant continues. Some facilities are turning away patients who haven’t booked, while some others who have an appointment are still being forced to wait hours to receive their jab.
Nandini Singh, student pointed out, "Apparently they have a limited supply of boosters and I've been hearing that they're running low on doses around the country. So I'm really not sure if we'll be able to get one today or when we'll be able to get one. I can't get my vaccination records from Australia uploaded properly. I have to go apparently all the way to Newcastle to get an appointment to have them record my vaccinations, but not necessarily also get a booster. So it's a little bit … I think they're still figuring out exactly how this is rolling out."

Commenting on this, Magdalene Ng, lecturer stated, "Every day checking, are we allowed to. I've got asthma as well, so I could have gotten it earlier, but today was the push. We sort of talked about it, me and (my friend) yesterday, and our housemates as well. There are five of us. That prompted us coming to get the booster today."
