Sharjah24 – Reuters: Lady Gaga said on Saturday (November 13) she wished treatment of women in the music industry would change, when asked about Britney Spears during a media event in Milan for her upcoming film "House of Gucci".
"I think that she will forever be an inspiration to women and to people all over the world. I watched her as a young girl and I still watch her now," said Lady Gaga.

In "House of Gucci", a film directed by Ridley Scott, Lady Gaga, whose first lead movie role in "A Star is Born" was critically acclaimed, will play Patrizia Reggiani, who served 18 years in an Italian prison for orchestrating the 1995 murder in Milan of her husband Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver.

Reggiani, dubbed the Black Widow in what was one of the most scandalous high society crimes in Italian history, was released from prison in 2016.

"It was a real challenge because for me, playing somebody who had somebody killed is a moral and ethical conflict but I really believe there was humanity in her and that she was a woman who just wanted to matter," she Lady Gaga.

Filmed in various European cities including Rome and Florence, the star-studded cast also features Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino.

"House of Gucci" is due to be released in the U.S. on November 24, 2021 and in the UK two days later.
