Sharjah24 – Reuters: U.S. rocker Jon Bon Jovi teamed up with Britain's Prince Harry on Wednesday (November 10) to honor veterans, service members and military families at the Intrepid's annual Salute to Freedom gala.
Harry and his wife Meghan walked the red carpet at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York. The couple stepped down from royal duties in early 2020 and are living in California with their two children.
Harry presented the Intrepid Valor Awards to five service members, veterans and military families. Bon Jovi received the Intrepid Lifetime Achievement Award.
The gala took place on the eve of Veterans Day, the federal holiday that honors the service and sacrifice of military service members across all generations.
In March 2020, Bon Jovi, Harry and a military choir released the single "Unbroken" to raise awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Proceeds from the sale of the song, which was written by Bon Jovi, went to the foundation that supports the Invictus Games, a sporting event for sick and injured veterans that is one of Harry's favorite causes.
The singer's parents both served in the U.S. Marine Corps while Harry served in the British military.
