Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmad urged citizens to take up arms to fight advancing fighters from northern Tigray state, BBC reported Monday.

Ahmad made the appeal after Tigrayan fighters reportedly seized control of more towns in neighboring Amhara.

Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) said its advance aimed at breaking the siege on the northern region.
