Al Marri calls on global collaboration for ‘Future of Finance’

Sharjah 24: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri (UAE) Minister of Economy, called on the leaders and institutions of the global financial sector participating in the 'Future of Finance' conference, hosted by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), on the 13thand 14th of October 2021, to join the UAE as partners in achieving the UAE's "Principles of the 50," highlighting the financial sector's critical role in turning data into a development investment that improves the financial sector's strength and resilience in the face of challenges and financial crimes and boosting economic growth based on knowledge, technology, and innovation.
Al Marri emphasized the importance of coordinated international and collaborative efforts with innovative proactive ideas and strategies to develop new integrated policies in the financial sector and banking sector to build a highly efficient system in the face of widespread financial crimes.

He added: "The financial sector has witnessed rapid transformations and developments as a result of technical progress and digital applications. Financial policymakers must create a comprehensive system that ensures the continuation of technological progress and knowledge transfer while strengthening mechanisms to curb modern financial crimes."

"As a consequence of technological advances and digital applications, the financial industry has seen significant revolutions and developments," Al Marri continued. Financial policymakers must develop a comprehensive framework that ensures the advancement of technology and the transfer of knowledge while also improving measures to address new financial crimes.
